The history of Furrows is an interesting one. Until recently the Head Office was Benbow House, the original home of Admiral John Benbow born 1653, one of our countries greatest seafarers, his name was immortalised in the book Treasure Island.

The house later became the vicarage of St Mary's Church until 1906, when it was sold and first became a garage. The new owner, Mr M. Davies called his new premises 'The Shrewsbury Garage'.

The garage began as an agent for Swift, Sunbeam, Studebaker, Briton and Arrol Johnson cars.

In 1918, Mr Cyril Harrison Watson acquired the premises and was granted the Ford franchise (in those days, Ford made tractors as well as cars).

Mr Davies renamed the business Furrows, which described their main business, i.e. Furrows as in ploughing.

Furrows remains a family business to this day, although we no longer sell tractors, we have expanded the vehicle business to include not only cars but trucks and commercials vehicles and finance. We offer a range of commercials to suit all needs.

We include accident repair centre, parts and service department, Ford rent a car & rapid fit centre.
Furrows have their own finance house –Abbey Finance- who provide financial services for corporate & private customers.
